Army Sergeant aims to be first Brit to compete in three successive Winter Olympics biathlons

An Army Sergeant is looking to become the first British athlete to compete in three successive Winter Olympics biathlons.

Sergeant Amanda Lightfoot competed in Sochi in 2014 and in Pyeong Chang in 2018.

However, she now faces a nervous wait to see if she'll be able to go to Beijing next month.

A fifth-place result at the World Cup 10k pursuit race in Slovakia could seal her Olympic place as a wildcard with qualifying places more difficult to get than ever before.

Despite suffering a broken elbow during a cycling accident in June, Sgt Lightfoot is aiming for more Olympic success.
