Royal Marine Lance Corporal Taylor Lawrence has won a silver medal as part of the GB 4-man Bobsleigh team at the World Championships in St Moritz.

The team of Lawrence, Greg Cackett, Aaron Gulliver and driver Brad Hall produced four superb runs and were tied for second place with the Latvian team, driven by Emile Cipulis, finishing on identical times of 4:20:30.

But neither could catch the German team, led by Olympic Champion Francesco Friedrich, who claimed a remarkable fifth successive world Championship.

The silver medal for team GB comes after their European Championship gold two weeks ago and is the best performance by a British 4-man team in the world Championships since 1939
