How Patriot missiles can improve Ukraine's layered air defence system

In order to repel and withstand Russia's missile attacks, it is crucial Ukraine has a layered air defence system.

Dr James Bosbotinis, a defence and international affairs expert, explained to Forces News, in the video above, how Ukraine's air defence works and how it has changed over the course of the conflict. 

Until now, he said, "Ukraine's ballistic missile defence capability has been extremely limited", but the Patriot, the US missile system set to be sent to Ukraine, will "provide them with the ability, an added ability, to counter such threats".
