Life within the boundaries of Ukraine has been upended, and today marks one week since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a brutal assault on Russia's neighbour.

Russia has faced fierce resistance from the Ukrainians since starting the attack, with many in the West claiming Moscow has not made as much progress as it had expected.

However, there are growing fears Russia will now step up the level of its attacks in Ukraine.
