Ukrainians will not pause for winter to keep pressure on Russians, retired US general says

The Ukrainians will not pause for winter and will instead keep pushing the Russians back, a retired US general has told Forces News.

General (Ret'd) Philip Breedlove, former Supreme Allied Commander Europe, said "the world" expects "Ukraine will pause" amid the harsh winter conditions but says he believes top Ukrainian officers will not aim to stop for winter.

He said the Ukrainians will not allow Russia time to "reconstitute their forces" and as long as Western support continues, Ukrainian forces will keep on advancing.

The former general also said the Russians are witnessing Ukraine's gains and are "making operational moves to protect themselves as they move further south and east in the country away from the advancing Ukrainian forces".
