Watch: US missiles intercept simulated supersonic target over Atlantic Ocean

The video above shows a US missile target launched over the Atlantic Ocean as part of US Navy Carrier Strike Group tactical training last month. 

The GQM-163A Coyote Supersonic Target initially launches at an elevated angle and the video shows it coming down into its sea skimming cruise phase when it travels at over Mach 2.5 only 30 feet above the water. 

The video is believed to show two SM-2 missiles exploding in proximity to the Coyote target and then the target being knocked off course and eventually exploding.
