To mark 75 years since VJ Day and the end of the Second World War, we have been searching our archives for some of the most captivating interviews with veterans of the 'Far East'.
 
In 2015 we spoke to veteran Jack Gordon who served as part of the British Pacific Fleet, where he spent eight months fighting Japanese troops.
 
He believed the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki saved many allied lives.
