Jon Knighton joined BFBS as a broadcast trainee in March 1986. He worked in Gibraltar, Cyprus, The Falklands, London and Germany with BFBS Radio before joining BFBS TV as a news producer and editor in 1994. He set up the Sports team in 2002, which has now grown to six team members, reflecting the importance of Forces sport. Jon studied History at university and obtained a postgraduate diploma in Journalism at Falmouth, before going on to work as a sports reporter for BBC York, Leeds, and Humberside.
