Army mark National Apprenticeships Week with special Bake Off contest

The Army has helped mark National Apprenticeships Week (NAW) by hosting a special Bake Off-themed contest involving civilian apprentices.

Ten civilian apprentice competitors, put their baking abilities under the professional eyes of some of the army's top chefs.

The event took place at 167 Catering Support Regiment, RLC, based out of ATR Grantham, with a panel of industry and military professionals judging.

It is the closest some of the apprentices have ever been to life in the armed forces.

In the RLC alone, more than a hundred new apprentice chefs join the ranks each year.

NAW 2023 is the 16th annual celebration of apprenticeships.

The week aims to bring together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make on individuals, businesses and the wider economy.
