Cadets Take Their First Steps Into Army Career At Redford Barracks
Cadets from the Tayforth University Officers Training Corps have taken the first steps in their career in the army.
They’ve marked completing the first stage of their training with a passing out parade in front of friends and family at Redford Barracks in Edinburgh.
The unit is made up of students from St Andrews, Dundee, Abertay and Stirling universities.
And it’s hoped the training will see many of them go up the ranks in the armed forces.
Olivia Budd, one of the cadets passing out today said:
"I feel really proud and honoured to be a part of this"
"Finally we are getting recognition for all the hard work we did."
Similarly, Henry Waterson who was also passing out today echoed Olivia's feelings:
"When you get your kit and get on the parade square you start to feel like you are part of something bigger."
