Ex-Royal Marine Prepares To Row Atlantic
Former Royal Marine Chris Shirley is training to row across an ocean to raise funds for the disaster response charity Team Rubicon.

The ‘Rowing For Rubicon’ challenge is seeking to become the fastest four people to row the Atlantic.
“I’m really confident we’ll get to the other side with two new world records”

Team Rubicon are made up of military veterans who use their skills and experiences to act as emergency response teams in disasters around the world.

The six-week transatlantic challenge will see the team rowing 3,500 nautical miles from Lagos in Portugal to Cayenne in French Guiana.
“The world record currently stands at 48 days – we think we can do it in 45”

The crew will set off in December 2017.
