
Para medical officer receives safety award for reducing risk to troops in snow and sand

A medical officer attached to 2 Para HQ has been awarded the 2023 Army Individual Safety Award for his work with 6 Air Assault Brigade Combat Team in a number of challenging environments.
Major Chris Mawson received the award for his exceptional management of environmental safety and risk in diverse terrain including the mountains of Slovenia, the deserts of Morocco's deserts and the frozen landscapes of Norway.
16 Air Assault Brigade congratulated the medical officer serving with 2nd Battalion the Parachute Regiment for his outstanding contribution to ensuring the safety of troops during training exercises.
