In Pictures: Military personnel out in force for London Poppy Day launch

Military personnel, veterans and Poppy Appeal collectors were out in force across the capital on Thursday for this year's London Poppy Day.

The Poppy Appeal collectors were aiming to raise as much as possible in a single day for the Royal British Legion (RBL).

Now in its 15th year, London Poppy Day is the largest cash street collection of its kind in Europe.

In 2021, the RBL is celebrating almost 2,000 collectors coming back out to raise vital funds to support members of the Armed Forces community.

The Royal British Legion (RBL) is the UK's largest charity dedicated to supporting the needs of the Armed Forces community, past and present, and their families.

Poppy days are also taking place in many other cities in the run-up to Remembrance Sunday.
