Pilot Remembers Battle Of Britain By Drawing Spitfire In England's Skies

A pilot has paid tribute to the Spitfire by 'drawing' an outline of the aircraft with his own home-made plane.

Andy McKee single-handedly flew the outline of the World War Two aircraft to celebrate the Battle of Britain in the RAF's centenary year.

The 46-year-old planned and flew the route without using autopilot and said he wanted to remember both pilots and ground crew who were a part of the battle.

Andy says the main challenge was planning the journey around a congested airspace above and near London.

His tribute flight was conducted in his homebuilt 'Silence Twister' - an aircraft that took Andy five and a half years, or 3,000 workshop hours, to finish.
