A Fresh Look At Headley Court's Successor
The Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre in the East Midlands is replacing Headley Court in Surrey, to become the place where injured personnel take their first steps on the road to recovery.
It aims to bring cutting-edge rehabilitation to a whole new generation of forces men and women.
Today Defence Minister Mark Lancaster saw the ÂŁ300 million defence and national rehabilitation centre taking shape four miles from Loughborough.
The facility will replace Headley Court and will treat not only around 300 injured servicemen and women but eventually also civilians.
This site was chosen above many others and will serve for around 70 to 80 years.
The state-of-the-art DNRC is due to open to injured service personnel in 2018
