While many in the UK were making the most of the weekend's sunny weather, the crew of HMS Prince of Wales were busy shovelling snow and clearing ice.

The Queen Elizabeth-class carrier is currently on NATO's Exercise Cold Response 22 – the alliance's largest Arctic exercise for 30 years.

A post on HMS Prince of Wales' Twitter page showed the flight deck crew busy clearing the snow to be able to continue operating on the exercise.

The aircraft carrier is playing a central role on Exercise Cold Response, operating as NATO's command ship.

F-35 fighter jets from RAF Marham and Poseidon aircraft from RAF Lossiemouth are also taking part in the training.
