RAF Chinooks have deployed to Estonia in support of the UK-led NATO enhanced Forward Presence on Russia's doorstep.

The helicopters from 27 Squadron at RAF Odiham in Hampshire have gone to Amari Air Base and will support two Rifles and Royal Welsh Battlegroups in the Baltic region.

The RAF's largest helicopters will move personnel and equipment in Finland and the Baltic States, according to the Royal Air Force.

Wing Commander Butler, Officer Commanding Aviation Task Force 3, said: "The Chinook Force relishes the opportunity to work alongside NATO and facilitate the essential training being conducted by the enhanced Forward Presence battlegroup."
