Training has started at RAF Scampton for the new pilots in the Red Arrows team.

The pilots have to go through hundreds of hours to hone their skills at the home of the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team.

The team consists of 11 pilots, nine who fly in the displays, and more than 100 support personnel.

Each of the pilots has previous fast jet experience, flying either Tornado, Typhoon or Harrier jets.

The team flies Hawk T1 jets and had completed almost 5,000 displays in 57 countries by the start of 2019.
