Base to Base: Albemarle Barracks

In February the 39 Regiment Royal Artillery, better known as the Welsh Gunners, bid farewell to Albemarle Barracks as the unit was disbanded after 68 years.

Their place will be filled this summer by soldiers from the 3rd Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, who are returning to the UK from Germany.

So what can the new arrivals expect when they arrive at the barracks - situated in the heart of Hadrian’s Wall country, 15 miles west of Newcastle and 12 miles east of Hexham?
