It was action stations on the deck of HMS Queen Elizabeth as personnel dealt with the potential circumstances of a simulated crash.

The Ship's Company of the Royal Navy's flagship prepared 'for the unexpected' during the simulation on Tuesday.

In a video shared on the warship's Twitter account @HMSQNLZ, personnel are seen running on deck in response to the 'crash'.

"The team works!" the tweet concluded.
