20 Years On... IFOR Remembered

It’s now 20 years since NATO sent its Implementation Force (IFOR) to the Balkans to enforce peace after the end of the Bosnian War.

80,000 troops from member states were sent to Bosnia and Herzegovina to enforce the Dayton Agreement and ensure stability in the region.

Heavily armed and mandated to fire at will if necessary, the IFOR also conducted tasks such as providing support for humanitarian and political aid, aiding with reconstruction and helping displaced civilians to return to their homes, collecting arms, and clearing mines and unexploded ordnance.

Forces TV's Victoria Smith has taken a look back at the mission.
