West Mercia Police Appeal For Help To Identify 'Roger Curry'

West Merica police are looking for a gentleman with a possible military connection as they try to identify a mystery man found in Hereford last year.

'Roger Curry' - who has no memory of who he is, or where he has come from, or indeed if that's his real name - was picked up by the authorities last November.

On Saturday 7th of that month, between 4:20pm and 4:30pm, a member of the public came across Roger and a man in the bus station car park in Commercial Road in Hereford.

The member of public began to help walk Roger to Hereford County Hospital with the unknown man. As they approached KFC on Stonebow Road an ambulance was passing which they flagged down.

The man with Roger, who police think may be able to help, is described as white, in his 40s, of a slim build, approximately 5ft 8ins in height with dark wavy hair and glasses.

He appeared to be wearing a jacket with long sleeves, combat style trousers and black boots. Along with his clothing it's understood he said he was 'coming from a training exercise', leading police to think he may be connected to the military.

Detective Sergeant Sarah Bennett of West Mercia Police said: "We are appealing locally, nationally and internationally to anyone who can help us trace the man who was seen with Roger. He may have vital information that can help us piece together where Roger had been prior to him being found. Any information, little as it may be, could be the key to unlocking this mystery.
"This is an unusual situation and we are desperately hoping that we can reunite Roger with his family, wherever they may be. We will also be focusing our appeal on social media with the hashtag '#RogersLostIdentity', so please share and retweet to spread the word."
Roger is currently in the care of Herefordshire Council and is safe and well. Despite numerous new lines of enquiry following previous public appeals, West Mercia Police have yet to identify Roger, who speaks with a possible Canadian/North American accent, and enquiries are ongoing to establish if he has been reported missing by family or friends nationally or internationally.

Police are keen to speak to the man described above who was with Roger on the day he was found, as he may be able to assist with piecing together Roger's previous movements. Anyone who believes they may have information is urged to call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident number 221-S-210116.
