Armed Robbers Tackled By Off-Duty Special Forces

When two armed thieves burst into a McDonald's in France last Sunday, they weren't expecting to find 11 special operations personnel inside.
The two had thought that a shotgun blast to the ceiling had subdued the 40 customers, but they were wrong.
According to the Telegraph, some of those inside were members of France's GIGN, a hybrid paramilitary/law enforcement team.
Specialising in protection of government officials, hostage rescue, counter-terrorism, and targeting organised crime, former SAS officer Tim Collins described them as among the best counter-terrorism teams in the world.
