Army v Navy: The Greatest Sporting Event You've Never Heard Of

Army v Navy Rugby Game at Twickenham 2015

You can watch it on Forces TV (Sky 264, Virgin 277 or Freesat 652), Sky Sports 2 or www.youtube.com/c/forcestv with coverage beginning on Saturday at 14.50 UK time. There'll also be full commentary on BFBS Radio, available on DAB.

This Saturday, the 30th of April, will be a huge day in the sporting calendar - the business end of Premier and Scottish Football League seasons as Leicester and Celtic try to secure the respective titles, Nico Rosberg attempts to increase his championship lead in the Russian Grand Prix, cyclists tackle the Dales in the Tour de Yorkshire and James DeGale endeavours to knock seven bells out of Rogelio Medina to retain his IBF belt.

But one of the biggest sporting attendances anywhere in Europe will be at Twickenham for a match barely mentioned in the national media - the annual Army v Navy Rugby match.

Such though is the interest in this game among the Forces community, both serving and retired, that the full 80,000 tickets were sold-out by February, two months before the game.

Now in its 99th year it's a historical clash like no other, first played out on the pitch as the guns pounded the battlefields and trenches of a Europe torn asunder by the First World War.
