British Army Veteran In Heroic Everest Rescue

Soldiers are often heroic during their service, and some get an opportunity to be heroic after they’ve left.
Bosnia, Afghanistan, and Iraq veteran Leslie Binns, 42, from Rotherham in Yorkshire, came to the rescue of a fellow climber on Mount Everest last month, according to the BBC.
Blown up four times during his varied deployments, and left blind in one eye, he now provides private security in Iraq.
Having climbed since childhood, he is now an experienced climber and knew just what to do when he was confronted with an emergency 500 metres from the summit.
As he heard screams and saw someone sliding down the climbing lane in front of him, he blocked the lane and stopped the climber before they slid any further.
