Exclusive: Europol Boss On Brussels - 'We Have A Radicalised Problem'
The Director of the European Policing Agency, EUROPOL, has told Forces TV the attacks in Brussels are a reminder that Europe has a 'radicalised problem' and 'we haven't seen the end of it yet'
As the scale of the attacks became clear, Rob Wainwright told our correspondent James Hirst:
"We have been saying for some time that the terrorist threat in Europe is the highest we've seen for at least 10 years. We are concerned about the number of radicalised individuals that are active in Europe, that have had conflict experience in Syria and Iraq."
Wainwright added:
"In the broader scheme of countering this threat the role the military plays - several nations active in the conflict zones - is clearly a hugely important part of the response... To try and deal with the problem at source."
