F-35 Flies Across Atlantic For First Time

An F-35 Lightning II has flown across the Atlantic Ocean for the first time.

The Italian Air Force jet was the first to be made at a new plant in Italy and has now been taken to the United States for three months of testing.

It comes at the start of a big year for the plane, with a handful of airframes due to make the long journey in the other direction for this summer's UK airshow season.
