Female Olympic Rower Sets Fine Example To Other Recruits
In just a few months time, Captain Heather Stanning and her pairs partner Helen Glover will be looking to continue their unbeaten run at rowing, by retaining their title at the Rio Olympics.
Captain Stanning caught up with Forces TV earlier this week.
We found her hard at work on her day job with the Army, paying a visit to her unit, 47 Regiment, Royal Artillery, on Salisbury Plain.
We congratulated her on picking up selection again. She said:
"Thank you very much. It wasn't a given, so it's always nice to hear our names come off that team sheet."
Captain Stanning said that the Army has been encouraging new recruits to do sports, and that this is a very positive development.
