Tri-Service

Happy 40th Birthday BFBS TV!

Since the Second World War the British Forces Broadcasting Service has provided those serving overseas with a vital connection to home.

Today marks an important milestone, as we celebate four decades since the military audience got its first glimpse of Forces Television.

BFBS first went on the air from a caravan in Northern Germany, to broadcast British programmes to Army and RAF personnel stationed in the country.

To mark the birthday, we've put together a special documentary looking back at how the service has evolved over the years - 'BFBS TV 40: Home on the Box'.
