Harlequins to Welcome Troops For Christmas

Hundreds of military personnel will be attending The Stoop on December 20 to watch Harlequins take on Newcastle Falcons in the London side's penultimate Aviva Premiership game of the year.

Tickets have been provided by military charity Tickets For Troops, which was set up in 2009 to reward servicemen and women who put their lives on the line for their country.

The charity offers them free tickets for major sporting events, theatre performances, music concerts and cultural attractions which they can share with their loved ones.

Over the last five years Tickets For Troops have been donated over 50,000 tickets for rugby matches across the UK, with the charity allocating over 650,000 tickets to date to events of all types.

Harlequins Head of Marketing and Communications Imogen Gaunt said: “Harlequins is incredibly proud to support our servicemen and women and we are looking forward to welcoming them to the Twickenham Stoop this weekend and over the course of the season.

"Our troops do so much for our country and we are delighted to provide this opportunity for some well-deserved down time”

The charity has over 140,000 members of the military registered and has distributed tickets for events like The Isle of Wight Festival,  England football, the rugby Premiership, top class cricket, darts, horse racing and snooker as well as major theatre performances and other music events.

Tickets are available on the TFT website to troops who are currently serving or who have been medically discharged since 2001.
