Hawk Jet Makes Emergency Landing During Exercise

A military jet has made an emergency landing in Scotland days after another aircraft was involved in a similar incident.
The Hawk jet landed safely but emergency services were called to the airfield at Stornoway Airport when the alarm was raised on Tuesday morning.
Fire, ambulance, police, coastguard and lifeboat crews were all alerted at about 9am.
It follows a full-scale emergency being declared at the airport in Lewis after a military aircraft struck a bird on Saturday. It also landed safely.
The incidents come during Exercise Joint Warrior - military training that involves numerous warships, aircraft, marines and troops.
It is currently taking place off the Western Isles and the west coast of Scotland.
