How A Country With No Standing Army Helps NATO

Iceland is a founding member of NATO, yet doesn't have a standing army.
 
The country does, however, maintain an airbase which provides support for alliance missions in the area.
 
Personnel from the Icelandic Police and Coast Guard also contributed to the 2004 NATO-led mission in Afghanistan.
