Military Paragliders Soar Above Wales

The Brecon Beacons has played host to this year's Inter Services Paragliding Competition.

It was the best turnout for the contest in at least a decade.

The sport is increasing in popularity, with more than 50 pilots involved from all three services this year.

One of the competitors had this to say about the sport:
"You get a sense of adventure, you get to go away and do all kinds of travel with it, it's just great fun. While you're up there as well, even if you're not competing, you can just be sitting back, flying around and having a good time with your mates."
But underneath its serene exterior, you’ll find fierce competition.

A UK armed forces team entered the British Club Challenge, a national competition that's on every year.

They won it in 2012 and 2013, and are currently third place in the league out of 17 clubs.
