New F-35 Helmets Will Each Cost MoD £260,000

When the joint strike fighter, the F-35 Lightning II, finally takes to the skies on its first official mission, it will be one of the most advanced and one of the most expensive planes ever.

The helmet is no exception.

Lockheed Martin has put the cost of the F-35 helmet at $400,000, almost quadruple that of models the fifth-generation fighter is meant to replace.
