Police Appeal After 91-Year-Old Veteran's Medals Stolen
Police are appealing for information after a 91-year-old war veteran had his medals stolen when his house was burgled.

The victim left his six medals in the kitchen before going to the shops, having planned to clean them on his return.

But when he got back home the collection, which included a bronze 3945 star, a bronze France and Germany star and a police long service medal, were gone, with someone believed to have entered the house via a rear door while the veteran was out.

All the medals were engraved with the victim’s name, the regimental number 2666006 and 5th Battalion Coldstream Guards.

A silver and green French Legion d'Honneur medal and a black wallet with gold lettering in the bottom right corner were also taken.

The burglary is suspected to have happened between 12.15pm and 2.15pm on Wednesday, 22 June, at the house on Wootton Park, Bristol.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has asked for anyone who has been offered the medals, or who has information about the burglary, to call 101 quoting reference 5216151507.
