Reserves Stun Locals During Storming Of Dorset Beach

Members of The Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia) conducted a beach assault demonstration directly onto Weymouth beach in Dorset

Holidaymakers in Weymouth were left stunned when 40 heavily armed soldiers stormed the beach during an assault demonstration.

Using raiding craft reservists from The Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia) conducted a tactical assault of 'enemy positions' in front of thousands of bewildered onlookers.

The team, taking part in the 27th such annual training exercise, then showed of their combat engineering skills by building a bridge in front of the Dorset town's promenade.

The Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia) is the Senior Regiment of the Army Reserve and has detachments spread across the South of Wales, the West Midlands as well as the Island of Jersey.
