Russian Embassy In Syria Hit By Shellfire

The Russian embassy in Syria has been hit by shellfire.

It happened during a rally by pro-government supporters in the country's capital Damascus, to back Russian airstrikes

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has called it a terrorist attack. No fatalities have been reported.

Britain's Defence Secretary, Michael Fallon, has warned that Russian involvement is making an already serious situation more dangerous.

Meanwhile one of his predecessors, former NATO Secretary General and Labour Defence Secretary Lord Robertson, has called for MPs to back British military intervention in Syria.

However, he told our correspondent James Hirst that military action alone won't solve the Syria crisis (above).

We asked James when he thinks there might be a vote...
