Soldier Stabbed By Men 'Angry Over Syria Bombings'
A French soldier is in a serious condition in hospital after reportedly being stabbed by two men, who were yelling that it was in revenge for the bombing campaign against Daesh.

The soldier is said to have been set upon whilst out jogging alone near his army base in the southern town of Saint Julien du Puy, around 70 miles east of Toulouse.

French media has reported that the 30-year-old sergeant said he was punched and slashed several times by the attackers and that they said it was in retaliation for the country’s airstrikes in Syria.

The two alleged knifemen are still on the run.

The country has been on a high state of alert since 130 people were killed in Paris last November in a series of gun and bomb attacks.
