Special Forces Video Goes Viral
A video showing US Special Forces on a training mission in Tampa, Florida has gone viral after being posted on the Forces TV Facebook page.
Footage of the Capabilities Demonstration rehearsal showed ground troops, Navy SEALs, paratroopers, helicopters, RIBs and ATVs all involved in a mock assault on one of the city's waterways.
Shot by members of the US Forces, it's now garnered in excess of 5,000,000 views.
The actual demonstration day itself featured Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn playing the part of a hostage.
He was rewarded by being given the opportunity to fire a large machine gun mounted on the front of a boat, an experience he appeared to relish (see below).
It comes as 12,000 representatives from 80 of the world's special operations forces descend on Florida for the 5th ISOF Conference.
Top of the agenda this year is "evolving the network to counter emerging threats" with sessions including "Countering Violent Extremist Organisations", "International Criminal Networks" and "The Future Security Environment".
If the organisers were looking to make it impact they've certainly managed to achieve it.
