Trump: "No One Is Going To Mess With Us"

President Trump

President Donald Trump says he has been working with advisers to improve America's defence and security.

Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in National Harbor, Maryland, Mr Trump outlined his goals in a number of areas.

Referring to the "beloved military", he said:

"We will be substantially upgrading all of our military, offensive, defensive, bigger, better and stronger than ever before. Hopefully, we will never have to use it."

He also claimed:

"No one is going to mess with us... [This is] one for [sic] the greatest military build-ups in American history."

He also said he wanted to attend the conference last year, but that he was considered too controversial:

"We wanted border security, strong military, and people considered that controversial."

He said the military is working on a plan "to totally obliterate ISIS" and "eradicate this evil from the face of the earth".

He said that at the same time, he understands that national security starts with border security: "The security of our people is number one".

He linked this to the issue of terrorism by saying:

"Foreign terrorists will not be able to strike America if they can’t get into America."

Mr Trump got another big cheer for saying he would protect the right to bear arms.
