Two Fighter Jets Crash

Two Fighter Jets Crash.
Four airmen have been rescued after two Navy fighter jets crashed during training.

The US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornets are reported to have collided but the Navy described it as “an in-flight mishap”.

The jets came down off the coast of North Carolina.

The four crew members, who were based out of Virginia Beach, were airlifted to hospital with minor injuries after being picked up by a commercial fishing vessel.

A Coast Guard spokeswoman told reporters they were in "very high spirits".

Lt. Cmdr. Krystyn Pecora said that officials are "happy to have brought everyone home safely."

The US Navy said: “A safety investigation will be carried out to determine the cause of the accident.”
