Women On The Frontline A Priority For Number Ten

The Minister for Armed Forces, Penny Mordaunt MP, has paid her first visit to the Infantry Battle School in Wales.

The Minister met personnel taking part in live-firing exercises as part of her tour of the training school.

She was shown the new Virtus body armour which is being trialled at the centre and discussed concerns for those training for potential frontline roles for women.

Penny Mordaunt insists women are capable of serving on the frontline.

Importantly, she says more must be done to improve safety for both men and women in the battlefield.

Speaking to our reporter Carla Prater she said it was a valuable visit.
