Army Modern Pentathlete Second Lieutenant Kerenza Bryson has won two gold medals for Great Britain after a successful week at the UIPM Modern Pentathlon World Cup in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Bryson's first gold came in the women's individual final where she performed excellently in the fencing to put herself in fourth position going into the decisive laser-run.

2Lt Bryson closed up a 14-second gap to the leader to secure her first World Cup medal and Pentathlon GB's first podium place of 2023.

2Lt Bryson's second gold came in the mixed relay where she competed alongside Team GB teammate Charlie Brown.

The duo showed great horsemanship in the riding and put on strong performances in the fencing to hold the top spot.

A solid swim to total a time of 02:04.45 was enough to hold on to the lead in the competition.

2Lt Bryson went on to run and shoot confidently which kept the British duo in the top spot as she handed over to Brown, who would go on to shoot with maturity and pace the final leg of the run to secure the gold for the British duo.

In a sport that requires an athlete to master five disciplines, including fencing, horse riding, swimming, shooting and running, 2Lt Bryson leaves Sofia with two World Cup goals after a phenomenal week.
