Athletes from across the British Army took to the track in Aldershot in a bid for glory at the Army Athletics championships.

With a busy track and field season ahead, competitors were keen to prove their form and fitness in events such as javelin as well as 400m, 800m or 1,500m races.

One soldier involved is looking to be the first Army athlete to compete at a summer Olympic Games and you can hear from him, as well as find out the winners on the day, in the video above.

A busy season beckons for military track and field stars with the all-important Inter Services Championships coming up – that will take place on 12 July in Aldershot.
