Triathlon star and Army Captain Kat Matthews is back to winning ways after winning the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championships in Bahrain.

Cpt Matthews took the win with a total time of 3:59:07, finishing ahead of Australia's Amelia Watkinson and Germany's Caroline Pohle.

This win marks a great way to round off what has been an up and down season for Cpt Matthews after she DNF'd at the IRONMAN world championships in Kona, Hawaii in October.
