UK Armed Forces men beaten by Pompey Academy ahead of crunch fixtures
The UK Armed Forces men's football team have lost to Pompey Academy 0-1 in a friendly fixture at Victory Stadium at HMS Temeraire.
With heavy rain providing tricky conditions for players on both sides, the UKAF men looked threatening for the Portsmouth side throughout the game
A penalty was awarded to UKAF in the first half of the game which was taken by Flight Lieutenant Aaron Eyett, but was saved by Pompey Academy's goalkeeper.
A goal for Pompey Academy at the 50-minute mark put UKAF 0-1 down for the remainder of the second half, and despite their efforts to create chances, the final whistle sounded a loss for UKAF as they prepare for their upcoming fixtures.
The UKAF men are set to play in this year's Remembrance Fixture at Aldershot Town, where they will play the German Bundeswehr on 5 October.
They will then head to the south of France in December for the Kentish Cup.
