RAF Brize Norton seizes Tri-Service Hockey Cup title, taking the treble in one season

RAF Brize Norton have won the Tri-Service Hockey Cup after beating teams from HMS Heron and 8 Battalion REME.

The Air Force side took on their Navy counterparts from HMS Heron in the opening match, where they won convincingly with a score of 8-4.

Heron then conceded eight goals against the defending champions 8 Battalion REME in the middle fixture, setting up an exciting final between the RAF and Army sides.

REME took the lead from an early penalty before Brize hit back to lead 4-1 at half-time.

They added three more in the second half, with REME replying twice to make the result 7-4 to give Brize Norton the overall win.

RAF Brize Norton win the notable treble, RAF indoor and outdoor champions and the Tri-Service Cup in one season.
