It was an RAF double delight in the Alpine Downhill event at the Inter Services snow sports championships.

Flying Officer Kirsty Guest and Flying Officer Ollie Weeks were the winners in the first event of day 2 at Meribel 2024.

This was Fg Off Guest's second year at the championships, and she continued her 100% winning record with a superb performance.

Meanwhile, this was Fg Off Weeks' first appearance at Meribel, and he made a stunning start to take victory in the men's race.

Both winners will be looking to continue their success at the Alpine Combined event which is being shown live on the Forces News YouTube channel.

Elsewhere, in the Telemark Sprint, Squadron Leader Claire Thomas grabbed another RAF win in the women's race.

It was a first ever tri-service female podium in the event, with the Army's Major Lori Seed (2nd) and the Navy's Lieutenant Commander Kate Retallick joining Sqn Ldr Thomas.

The men’s race was won by Royal Marine Olly Wotton, claiming his second gold medal of the week after his success in the giant slalom on Monday.
