Meribel 2024: Dramatic slip decides Alpine Combined title during live broadcast

Watch: Highlights from an amazing Alpine Combined event at Meribel 2024

An unfortunate slip at the top of the slope cost Major Tessa Pirie the opportunity to fight for the women's title in the Alpine Combined event at Meribel 2024.

Earlier in the day, an error from Flying Officer Kirsty Guest saw Maj Pirie take full advantage to win the Super G event.

However, in the slalom run, a stunning burst from Fg Off Guest put the pressure on at the top of the leaderboard and Maj Pirie's slip confirmed the RAF star as a winner for the sixth straight Meribel race across 2023 and 2024.

In the men's event, it was smooth performances from Able Seaman Graeme Price that sealed the title for the Royal Navy skier.

He led the board after winning the Super G and continued that momentum to go fastest in the slalom too.
