British Army launches its first men's netball team

The British Army has launched its first men's netball team.

The service is hopeful that more male soldiers will take part and an Inter Services competition could take place in the future.

It was only in 2018 when the first all-male netball team was created in England and the Army have now followed suit.

The new Army men's side played their first fixture last weekend but lost.

Army netball head coach Lieutenant Colonel Laura Ellis said: "It's always been in our five-year plan [to introduce a men's team] but this year was the right year to do it just because of the amount of men that arrived [to mixed Inter Unit competitions]."
